Arturo Tamayo is a Spanish conductor internationally recognised for twentieth-century and contemporary music. His career has included collaborations with many of Europe’s leading orchestras and specialist ensembles, among them the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra London, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Ensemble Modern, Klangforum Wien, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and the principal radio orchestras of Paris.
He has also worked with major institutions and orchestras in Vienna, Berlin, Prague, Rome, Florence and Venice. His repertoire includes demanding works by many of the most important modern composers, and his recordings document a major contribution to contemporary performance practice.
