Piano Masterclass with Orchestra

Location: Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic

Orchestra: Symphony Orchestra of the North Bohemian Opera and Ballet Theatre

Each pianist may propose a piano concerto or another suitable work for piano and orchestra. The repertoire is agreed with the organizers and the orchestra, taking into account the pianist’s artistic preferences and the practical requirements of orchestral rehearsals and the public concert.

The main focus is practical work with the orchestra: developing communication with conductors, ensemble awareness, timing, balance, and confidence in a professional rehearsal environment.
The program includes rehearsals with the orchestra, a dress rehearsal and a public concert.
The soloist may perform either the complete concerto or only one movement.
The orchestra’s instrumentation should fit the current size of the North Bohemian Theater Orchestra:
2.2.2.2 – 4.2.3.0 – Timpani, Strings, Harp.

All sessions with the orchestra will be video-recorded, and the soloist will receive recordings of all rehearsals and the final concert, which can be used for a professional portfolio or for study purposes.
